With an ever increasing number of
companies claiming to sell 'real'
kopi luwak you need to be very careful
before spending your money. Animalcoffee
began over three years ago with
the aim of delivering a product
that is reliably of a high standard
and unquestionably authentic, to
stand out among the many pretenders
that unfortunately proliferate in
a country with little regulation,
as is Indonesia.
Some points to
consider...
Guarantee
The tests to verify the authenticity
of kopi luwak were developed by
Dr Massimo Marcone at the University
of Guelph in Canada. They require
specialised equipment that is not
available in Indonesia so any 'Guarantee'
issued by an Indonesian government
department is worthless. Transparency
International's Corruption
Indice Table places
Indonesia at 130 on a list of 163
countries and in fact Animalcoffee
was able to obtain such a certificate
WITHOUT HAVING OUR COFFEE TESTED.

Ethics
Any company prepared to steal images
and information from other sites
for their own use obviously has
few ethics. If they are asking you
to trust that they are selling something
rare and valuable you should definitely
be suspicious.
Buy-kopi-luwak.com, Indonesian
Grocery and Paradise Coffee
are all the same company, their
shopping cart was temporarily closed
down in early 2007 due to complaints
about their theft of images and
information. Here is a snapshot

forced to remove one of our images
and a logo stolen from Ravensbrew.com
Dr Massimo Marcone
of the University of Guelph in Canada
is the recognised world authority
on kopi luwak. He has made a career
of the study of kopi luwak and is
currently the only person qualified
to verify its authenticity. References

Having sent samples
of our Luwak Coffee to Dr Marcone
to test over the past few years
we are very proud to have received
written confirmation that our Luwak
Coffee is "officially"
authentic.
University regulations
forbid our publishing Dr Marcone's
letter however anyone wanting to
confirm the authenticity of our
coffee, or details of the tests
and their results, is invited to

This letter is valid for a period
of 3 (three) years, during which
time AnimalCoffee will continue
to provide Dr Massimo with samples
of our coffee to ensure the
coffee remains genuine kopi
luwak.
Bat Coffee
(this product will be added
when we have sufficient quantity).
We further guarantee that our Bat
Coffee has been eaten by and has
passed through the digestive tract
of a bat, exact species unknown.
Dr Massimo came to the following
conclusion; Your bat coffee
does look like it went through a
GI track of an animal.
In our continued
efforts to improve and upgrade our

Certificate of Authenticity with

Card.
