My name is Craig XXXXX, and I've been a coffee lover for over forty years. As such I was quite interested when I read about Kopi Luwak in the Los Angeles Times. I feel fortunate to have found your website, as there were five or six sellers of this unique coffee. I was, however, impressed with your company's website. I ordered a 1/2 pound gift box of the Arabica beans and one of your Robusta. Much to the chagrin of my fiance, I arranged a dinner party with a dessert finale of different desserts and your prized coffee as the surprise delicacy. To my surprise, despite the "unique" filtering system employed by your particular roast, everyone (except my fiance) tried it and all were delighted. She's not quite as adventurous as my friends and colleagues, and more of a tea sipper,but I still love her dearly. I suspect that you may even have an order or two coming your way, as my friends (names deleted for privacy) both asked for your website.

I must say that the finish of your brew is even better than the Wallenburg Estate Blue Mtn. Jamaican, I've been getting from Surfas, in Los Angeles for years.

There were a few glitches however, with my order. The lid of the 1/2 pound gift box which the Arabica came in split, perhaps due to the different humidity here in Southern California, and strangely, the Arabica brew was flat and tasted "stale" by comparison to the Robusta, which I was expecting to be the lesser brew of the two. I don't know whether it was because the Arabica simply came in a zip loc bag, and the Robusta in a commercial vacuum sealed one, but the Arabica Luwak was not near the quality or the taste of the Robusta.

I'm still deciding whether your coffee is worth three times that of my gold standard, Blue Mountain, but now that I've tasted it, I must admit I'm truly spoiled as Kopi Luwak, is certainly superior to that which I have considered the best coffee in the world for nearly twenty years.

I'm hoping that you will make good on your guarantee and send me a replacement for the Arabica in question. Additionally, I would appreciate your replacing the box which was cracked, as I would like to display it in my kitchen. I would be happy to have you send the 1/4 pound box as a replacement which would fit better, size-wise next to my kitchen coffee making apparatus. Otherwise, the top lid of the 1/2 pound gift box as a replacement would be sufficient as a replacement, as the bottom did not crack.

NOTE: Animalcoffee sent a replacement box and half pound of Arabica beans to enable Craig to re-evaluate our Arabica kopi luwak. We have also altered our packaging and now use 'commercial' coffee packaging sourced outside Indonesia.

Package arrived in great condition and ahead of schedule. You've got yourself a wining combination here with a great product superior customer service. I'll definitely purchase again and recommend to my friends.

We tried the coffee. We put it through as French press, and I have to say, it was great. It is truly the best coffee we have ever had. Out of the 17 people, including myself, there was not a naysayer in the bunch. 3 of the people (students) had never had coffee and they liked. Four of the staff members who had to drink creamer in their coffee because of bitterness drank it plain and like it because of its bold but bitterless taste. Bravo Animalcoffee.com, Great product.
